This is the view down the manger, where we feed the girls:

This is a lambing jug - a place where mom and the newborn lamb go to get to know each other. They are moved into their jug son after birth, and will stay there for 24 hours to 3 days, or until they are well bonded.
Then they are moved into a hardening pen with 2 or 3 other ewes and their lambs.

To keep the lambs warm during the coldest nights, we fit each one with a "sweater" made from old wool people-sweaters. Not only are they cozy - but awfully cute too!

The sweater twins showing off their fashions!

Meanwhile. . . we tried to do a photo shoot with Jay Bird!

Hey get back here! (that's me pulling her tail!)

Now smile!

She's quite pleased with herself!

Todd's pleased with her too!

More to come!
